In case this comments will catch your (or someone else's) attention, here is the story: After reading the comment I nodded to myself, thinking that there probably is an easy way to configure the site so that registered users can choose to get e-mail notifications when there is a new reply to their comment. It was my plan to do such configuration and then reply here to confirm it. But then I also felt flooded with my main work, and soon the site configuration task sank down to the level of "nearly forgotten stuff" in my to-do list... Well well, I know that happens all too often with me. At the moment I have one nearly-finished coding project at my hands. Once that is done I hope to have more time to concentrate on the to-dos of the Enormous Elk site!
