Eight years ago one of my friends, Jonimatti Joutsijärvi, started working on a biography of a late Finnish poet, Mirkka Rekola. The project grew to be more than 850 pages, and got published in two parts. I attended a discussion event related to the publication of the second part. Among other things I found it very interesting how Mirkka Rekola saw her poetry almost like a medium of philosophical study; to examine the human experience, to question some of the conventional assumptions, on a quest to better understand the layers of existence which are beyond language.
