Grilling a sausage near the Takalahti bay. Level of water is exceptionally low, and only one third of the bay is free of ice. The main lake is still all frozen over. So it might still be little too early for pike spawn. Yesterday I set a fish trap at the mouth of the bay, and today I went to check it - no luck. I spent a while by the fire, listening if there is any fish activity - pikes make the characteristic splashing sound when they mate in the shoreline foliage. But today it was all silent.
