Another piece of art which I've chosen to decorate my daily surroundings. An art exhibition poster from the summer 2019.

Drawing by Kalle Lampela, inspired by Soviet era propaganda material promoting the hope for a better, brighter future.

I still have the leaflet from that exhibition. The background material for drawings by Kalle Lampela contains a piece of conversation attributed to Ukrainian kolkhoz workers back in the 1961. The workers, listening to a programme in Soviet radio, praise the speed of progress, and the great collective achievements improving their quality of life, hoping that eventually they'll see their society evolving from socialism to pure communism.

(a bit simplified, in a certain theoretical context socialism was seen as an non-perfect but necessary intermediary stage in the cultural evolution towards fully blown communism. In communism there would not be any kind of oppression, just peace and prosperity distributed equally for all.)

To me it seems that at the moment mr. Putin is working hard to restore the Hruštšov-era Soviet glory. But somehow it seems that the Ukrainian folk didn't welcome the Russian army as welcome liberators...

Hah. Meillä on mökki ihan Purnun vieressä. Tulee käytyä vuosittain, varmaan viimeiset 25 vuotta.
