One of my preferred ways to enjoy red wine. (According to the western Christian tradition, today is Good Friday - the day we are supposed to remember how the almighty God first created the world and the humans, then got angry at humans doing silly stuff, but eventually wanting to make a peace with humans by helping them to make a sacrifice big enough to appease God's anger. As we know, the sins of the mankind were so big that no amount of goats sacrificed could match to the sin of breaking against God's will by eating that apple. Well, but luckily the situation was remedied by God himself, sending his only son as a human to live among the mankind, so that local people could torture the son of the God to death, and apparently that somehow made the God happy, feeling at peace with mankind, promising an eternal life for those who believe in Him. While I respect people who find this myth reassuring, I must admit that personally I always felt somehow alienated because of this myth. Like, I had some hope of there being a way for us humans in our mundane life to learn not to torture each other. Instead, the solution my local branch of Christianity offered was that the mundane life is necessarily just a prolonged suffering, and the priced Heaven will be available only in the afterlife, for a selected few. Well, cheers to that! Cheers to anyone who suffers torturing, bombing, coerced warfare, brainwashing, or any kind of emotional violence in the world of today! I raise a glass of red wine to remember the sufferings of the innocent! Personally, I do believe that there is a number of ways how us, the mundane human beings, could stop torturing each other and start living in peace and harmony. But today I'm not going to write more about it. I just wish peace for everyone!)
