Setting up the donated PC. For a few years I've been running on Debian MATE as I like it simple and robust. Now I decided to again try Pop!_OS but it makes me feel unsure - obviously it aims at being easy to use (and that was one of the reasons I wanted to try it, as I'd like just to continue my game development), but in doing so it also feels that it hides some information from me, leaving me guessing. But maybe it is just that it is different from the old school MATE experience, and I just need to learn the way Pop!_OS works. Well, but at first I just installed the IDE, cloned Ancient Savo source code and tried to run it. It gave me bugs I didn't encounter on the laptop, which I think is good for the development ; these bugs are likely to affect players as well, so it is good to be able to reproduce them at my end.
