Another situation developing to a flood. Here we have a culvert smaller in diameter, but apparently it is frozen solid, for water keeps on accumulating on the left side of the road, unable to pass to the ditch on the right side which takes to a bigger ditch which eventually connects to a small waterway taking all the way down to the lake. After the work day on my way to home I stopped to take a closer look at the situation. I have installed a small plastic hose which runs through the culvert, and the hose is capped on both ends. I went home and heated up a lot of water. I loaded the water into a big container and drove back with the ATV. I started to pour hot water into the small plastic hose - it took some fifty liters of water to run through the hose until it thawed a little of ice around the hose, so that I could pull it away. That leaves a hole in the ice, about the size of the removed hose - and, ta-da! As soon as I removed the hose I saw water flowing out from the hole on the right side of the road.
